(a.k.a. "Beaudacious Beauregard" or simply "Beau")

Greetings Jacki & Don;
Just wanted you to know that "Beauregard" is simply wonderful - checked out beautifully at the vet's with flying colors. The vet (my friend Jeri's husband Phil) said he was not only an exceptionally beautiful poodle, but had the absolute best temperament. He was such a trooper during the exam!! We calculated that he is 14 weeks, and he weighed 22 lbs.!! In case you're wondering about his name...it is from our favorite old movie "Auntie Mame" (the original with Rosalind Russell). One of our favorite lines, and one of Auntie Mame's credos is "Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death!". Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside is the name of the handsome rich southern gentleman who rescues her by marrying her after her fortunes are lost in the crash of '29. What's kind of funny is that his southern plantation where he was raised is called "Peckerwood". You will note that one of Raymond's [sire] champion ancestors is "Peckerwood's She Promised Me"!! Cute coincidence, no?? Thanks again for the beautiful job raising Beauregard. Best regards (no pun intended), MA From 2nd letter: Here is another snap of Beau with my partner Bill and me. We just love him to death - he is such a perfect addition to our family. Everyone comments on how beautiful he is and how well tempered. He is such a dear boy. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Warm regards, MA Hi everyone, I thought you might like to see an updated snap of Beau -- he is now 6 months old and weighs 38.4 lbs. He's such a treasure -- a perfect gentleman (except during the occasional episodes when he feels the urge to be a bit naughty, like any puppy!). We are certainly crazy about him!! Warm regards, MA |
