Why Poodles make Perfect Pets

poodleWhen you think of a Poodle, is the first thing that comes to mind an artist in Paris painting the Eiffel Tower with a Poodle by his side? Some would say “Yes”. Many people associate the breed with the elegance of Paris. It comes naturally to identify them with Paris because part of their origins are from France. It is disputed whether they are from France or Germany. But there is no denying that their popularity stems from France. They are established as France’s national breed.

The word Poodle comes from the german word pudelhund. Pudel means to “splash about” and hund means “hound”. This does not come as a surprise because they are known to be very playful and love the water. They were originally bred for duck hunting and retrieving.

There are so many unique characteristics that the breed carries. On top of their outgoing personalities they are one of the only breeds with their type of curly coat and body structure. Their coat is one of their best features as it can be combed and cut elegantly in many different styles. They have won many “Best in Shows” throughout history thanks to their unique stylish coat.

Poodles are one of the most intelligent dog breeds. They excel in many sports and are great in agility and obedience. Poodles are full of energy and are very sociable. They love being around people and are very loving and caring.
They are great therapy dogs and their coat is considered hypoallergenic due to the minimal amount of shedding. Their curls trap the hairs that do shed and makes for a cleaner, healthier environment for you and your family.

Poodles make the perfect pet because although they can be elegant and graceful in a competitive state, they can also be loving and playful at home. Anyone that has the privilege of owning a Poodle is very lucky ☘ because not only do they have a great companion but they are also a part of the legacy that they have left throughout history.
