Wilson came to me from an unexpected source, a litter that I helped deliver as a midwife. I had arranged the breeding of Champion Paradigm by Starlight and Wilson's mother "Sedona". I was not considering a puppy from this litter for my own. At the litter's age of seven weeks I went to visit. A beautiful apricot male puppy, caught my eye as he walked across the puppy pen to greet a litter mate. I mentioned to his breeder that he was the puppy from the litter which I choose as "pick of litter". He was very well put-together and had fabulous movement. Wilson has such a happy go lucky approach to life which was demonstrated at the prestigious dog show in Long Beach California in Dec of 2006. Wilson was 11 months at the time. He went into the ring finding so much humor and enjoyment in the activity that he had everyone, including the judge, laughing out loud at his exuberance. Wilson didn't win any ribbons that day but he sure put a smile on bunch of folks' faces. The next day Wilson competed again and was awarded "Reserve" that means he was judged the best Standard Poodle that day except for one, which got "Best of Breed". Not bad for a puppy! Wilson is so handsom and steady of character, we say he is a black poodle in an apricot coat. People have approached me from all over the world curious about Wilson's background and future. At only a year old Wilson captured the eye's of artists as his character shines through as intriging as a wizard in a fantasy film (see below). Being with Wilson fills one's heart with hope and joy. |
